Race HQ

The Race Headquarters are at Stanwick Village Hall, Spencer Parade, Stanwick, Wellingborough NN9 6QJ

Race registration is located here and there are toilet facilities and refreshments are available. Stanwick is a small rural village in East Northamptonshire, UK. The races start and finish by the village church and the course is normally lined with daffodils…

Parking

On race day parking in the village itself is very limited. This is because many roads are closed and residents have to use the available on street parking. However, we have the use of a small car park near the middle of the village, kindly offered by “Hawkes Technical” and a large car park at Hall Farm on the Higham road leading out of Stanwick.

The Course

The 10k route is on gently undulating roads around the villages of Stanwick and Chelveston. The course is fully marshalled and there are several drink stations positioned around the course. There are two certified TMO’s for course management. A lead car and tail car are used during the road run. We provide Full first aid cover. See our Races Course Maps for more info.

  • Registration is in Stanwick Village Hall from 07h30 till 08h30
  • A list of runners will be posted both outside and inside
  • Find your name, remember your number and go to the relevant desk to collect it
  • Safety pins provided
  • The 10k race fills up fast so there will be no entries “on the day”
  • We hope you have a great day!

About Stanwick Village Races

A stalwart team of Stanwick village volunteers gets together each year to arrange our Easter Monday 10k and 2k races and we are proud of the hard work that goes into putting our events together. All proceeds from the races go to local charities and community groups.

Our 10k race is marshalled, organised and adjudicated according to official UKA rules, but our events are designed as much for the community as they are for runners, our village comes together to create a great day’s entertainment which is great for all the family, runners and supporters!

Stanwick Race Group

Stanwick Race Group consists of a group of volunteers, mainly from our village. The group meets regularly throughout the year to plan the annual Stanwick Easter Races.

The Stanwick Village Races are a major annual event for our village, and a warm welcome to all athletes is assured.

The whole village is involved in the organisation and preparation, with local people manning the Car Parks and providing friendly and encouraging marshalling, apart from all the other tasks involved in organising a successful Race Day.

What preparation do we do for the races?

With so many visitors to the village, it is very important to have clear signs so that the athletes can find their way to the car parks and registration area. The course has to be carefully marked and marshals situated at frequent intervals.

Drink stations need to be set up, road closure signs, cones and signs to warn motorists about the runners need to be put in place.

Everything possible is done to ensure the safety and well-being of the runners, spectators and residents.

We have official Traffic Management Officers in attendance.

Members of Stanwick Race Group and other charity organisations are on site early in the morning preparing for visitors.

Freshly cooked food is available, before, during and after the race in the village hall. The Duke of Wellington Pub also provides food and drinks after the races. We highly recommend trying the fabulous refreshments on offer.
